SERMON NOTES:-

Bible Text: Luke 1:26–38
Focus: The Annunciation — God’s visitation to Mary

This sermon teaches that divine visitation happens when heaven intervenes in human affairs and God chooses to bless a person beyond natural ability, human effort, or expectation. Using the story of Mary in Luke 1:26–38, the message shows that when God visits a person, impossible situations become possible.

Mary was a virgin and naturally unqualified to conceive, yet God chose her for a supernatural assignment. This reminds us that God does not always call the qualified; He qualifies those He calls. The angel also pointed Mary to Elizabeth, who had conceived in old age, proving that God’s power was already at work in the family. Elizabeth’s barrenness and reproach were removed, showing that divine visitation can remove shame, delay, and long-standing disappointment.

The sermon also highlights other biblical examples of divine visitation. Peter experienced divine intervention after fishing all night without catching anything. Hannah received Samuel after years of persistent prayer. The children of Israel had the reproach of Egypt removed at Gilgal. These examples show that God can visit anyone at the point of need and turn shame into testimony.

However, divine visitation requires spiritual preparation. The believer must live in holiness, remain in the camp of God, call upon the Lord in prayer, and be persistent without giving up. Like Hannah and the persistent widow, believers are encouraged to keep knocking on heaven’s door until God answers.

The message also teaches the importance of sacrifice. Solomon’s sacrifice provoked a divine encounter where God gave him an open invitation to ask for what he wanted. Sacrifice is not only about money; the first sacrifice God desires is the heart. Finally, the sermon warns against laziness. God blesses what is in our hands, so believers must be diligent in their work, service, career, and assignments.

The sermon concludes with a call to prayer: that no one will miss the day of their divine visitation, and that God will visit every situation with mercy, favour, healing, breakthrough, and answers.

Key Lessons

  1. Divine visitation is supernatural intervention from God.
It happens when human strength has failed and God steps in.

  2. God can use anyone He chooses.
Mary was not chosen because of status or qualification, but by God’s favour.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it well and faithfully.
